Mixing FLASCH’s Debut Album “THEM” in Dolby Atmos

It was an absolute honour and pleasure to do the Atmos mixes for FLASCH’s debut album THEM!

This record is a brilliant showcase of one of my favourite aspects of Atmos: the ability to let every detail breathe in a dense, layered production. THEM is largely hyperpop, with tracks overflowing with synth textures, stacked vocals, percussive bursts, and unexpected sonic twists. In stereo, the masters are already gorgeous (and were a joy to work from), but Atmos opens up an entirely new dimension.

In Atmos, the lush soundscapes feel visceral — the synths dance independently of the lead vocals, ad-libs whisper just over your shoulder, while sound effects hit head-on. The bass doesn’t just rumble, it feels weighty and bone-shaking, enveloping you without overwhelming the mix. The result is a listening experience that feels loud and powerful, but never smashed.

Working with FLASCH on this project was inspiring. Their artistry pushes boundaries, and Atmos allowed me to sculpt their sound in a way that feels expansive and intimate all at once. I love all the surprises when you peel back the layers…the little “meow” in ‘EVERYDAY IS HALLOWEEN’ is one of my favourite lil bits of ear candy 🥹

If you’ve never experienced hyperpop in Atmos, THEM is the perfect introduction. Stream the album now on Apple Music, and if you can, listen on headphones or an Atmos-enabled system to really step inside the world of the record.
